Aquaman, Volume 1: The DrowningAquaman, Volume 1: The Drowning by Dan Abnett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Excellent start to a new Aquaman. The story is dense, full of political machinations and lots of action. We've got a new group of villains and the return of Aquaman's nemesis. The only thing I don't like is that each issue is drawn by a different illustrator so it doesn't have a cohesive look but otherwise the art is all excellent. The first issue has an anonymous villain giving us an introduction to who Aquaman is, making this a good starting point for new readers and Superman shows up in the last issue for some Justice League tie-in. An exciting finish leaves us waiting for the next volume.
