Green Arrow (Rebirth) Volume 2: Island of Scars by Benjamin Percy
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love Green Arrow, however, this did not live up to the previous volume in this new series. Rather than having a plot throughout it was all over the place storywise and while the stories were interesting they were jerky and lessened the enjoyment of the volume. The book starts out featuring Emiko who has been kidnapped by her mother and the story flashes back between Emiko's past and her present; this is where we left off in Vol. 1. This arc lasts a couple of issues then we are with Green Arrow and Black Canary as they are stranded on the titular island and have to deal with the Ninth (something or other who are not completely out of the picture from Vol. 1). This storyline lasts a few more issues and then the plot switches to Green Arrow, Canary and Diggle and a political mess they have to solve while on the Trans-Pacific Railroad. The book finally ends with everyone back home and we can look forward to what Green Arrow is going to do now about his lost company. What I had expected this volume to be about. Decent read but disappointing after volume 1.
